Her Long Goodbye continues to get reviews on Amazon.com.
Draft manuscript for Her Waiting List completed in May, almost a year to the day I had begun to pen the story. Editing and proofing completed by Barbara Sampson (my previous boss). Released as an e-book on Amazon in September 2014. The launch was celebrated with family, friends and colleagues. Guests received a goodie bag which included a teaser from the newly released novel.
Almost as soon as I had completed the draft manuscript of Her Waiting List I got the word for a new book, Called to Thrive. The book is a far cry from fiction romance. Instead it is be a non-fiction book aimed at single Christians regardless of their age and regardless of whether or not they would eventually marry. Despite there being a two month gap over the time when I was doing the final preparations for Her Waiting List the first draft of Called to Thrive was completed within six months. Just this week I have started to read over it in preparation for passing it on to Barbara to begin editing in the new year. My aim is to have it published as an e-book on Amazon by June 2015 at the latest.
Labour Weekend was spent at a writer's retreat in Akaroa. After a two month gap of writing, due to being consumed by the publication tasks surrounding Her Waiting List, I got back into writing Called to Thrive, making significant progress with the book during this time. Aside from it being a productive weekend it was also extremely relaxing.
I spoke to Shirley, an old colleague and avid fan, recently who said that she would like one of my novels to have a happy ending. I did debate with her whether her the endings of the two romance novels did have elements of happiness wrapped up in them. For awhile I have been thinking of writing a third novel in the series, this time from Zara's point of view. After talking with Shirley I decided to do it. The title of the book will likely be Her Long Wait, a mash of the two previous titles. I hope to start working on the manuscript over the Christmas break. Today I began to write ideas for the plot, some of which is shaped by the plot from the previous two novels.
As you can see it has been a very busy but productive year. Even if you don't like reading romance novels or simply don't like reading e-books (I must admit I still love holding a real book in my hands) please support my work by purchasing one or all of my e-books off Amazon.
Thank you for your support. Have a wonderful and safe Christmas season. God bless.
